This presentation introduces you to our local tick species, providing information on where and when they are abundant in Licking County (& across Ohio), explaining how ticks might influence population health, and offering guidance for personal protection and resources for learning more.

A resident of the Village for over 25 years, Jessica Rettig teaches biology and global health at Denison University. Trained as a field ecologist, she often studies the population ecology of native species, from fish, turtles, and insects to ticks (which aren't insects).
